MDetail.com was founded in 2010 and was originally thought to be a business based website with some tips & technique content. MDetail has been re-vamped to share the knowledge that the everyday consumer needs to properly maintain their vehicle.
Ever since I was 12 years old I have been washing cars. My Dad had planned on giving me his 1987 Honda prelude with over 300,000 miles on it, but the paint and interior were in great condition. When I would go to his house about once a month, I would spend a half day or so washing, waxing, and caring for the car. Over the years my knowledge on car care has expanded more than I could have ever imagined. This love for car care turned into an obsession, then turned into a business. I don’t do as many paid detail jobs as I used to (I have a full time job), but I still love it just as much. I wanted one place that the everyday consumer could come to for advice, techniques, tips and an unbiased opinion on car-care products.

Hello MDetail,
I just watched your video on engine detailing and must say it ROCKED! I’m also a great fan of detailing cars. I noticed you use the Meguire’s Detailer Line products and was wondering if you used the Hyper Wash or Shampoo Plus at all? Or would you suggest any other car shampoo with the must suds and slickness…
I have always used Meguire’s products and when I try new products like Adam’s Polishes and others, I always go back to Meguire’s.
Thanks again
Eric
Hey Eric,
I actually have both Hyperwash and Shampoo Plus. I haven’t broken into the shampoo plus, but the Hyperwash works fine for me. The only wash that I have used so far that I really liked (compared to “it was fine”) Was Adams Car Wash Shampoo. This shampoo is a bit expensive though, so I would probably just stick with one of Meguiars washes.
